We make sure systems talk to each other
Systems that don’t talk to each other are not only an annoyance, but also an obstacle in an intelligent system – and we are very aware of this at OutScale. That’s one of the reasons why we focus on making systems talk to each other – to make security systems both user-friendly and usable
On this page, you can see some examples of the integrations we have handled in the past. What they all have in common is that they ensure that security systems, for example, talk to each other and thus ensure both usability and security of your assets. Not only do we take care of systems at fixed locations, but we’re also happy to take care of systems at construction sites and temporary or mobile facilities.
Building services engineering
It’s a good idea to integrate security systems with other building technology systems such as CTS, lighting control, etc. The possibilities are endless and all solutions are tailored to the needs of the individual building. An example could be an integration between the alarm system and the CTS system, where the alarm’s PIR detectors are also used as presence detectors for the CTS system. This way, no extra PIR detectors need to be installed in every room for the CTS system.
Another example could be an integration between the alarm, the CTS system and the lighting control, so that the lights automatically turn off when the alarm is armed, and the CTS system reduces ventilation and heating/cooling when the alarm is armed.
Cross-platform user management
Unified user management can be done in two ways, or a combination of both:
- Managing users across multiple physical locations (multisite)
- Managing users across different systems in the same physical location (crossplatform)
The benefit of both is that administration is significantly reduced and time is saved on creating, changing and investigating incidents. However, there are also some individual benefits to the two solutions:
The Multisite solution allows companies with multiple locations to avoid having to create a new user at each location that a user needs access to. The user is automatically synchronized across locations, depending on the user’s access rights.
The Crossplatform solution allows you to synchronize users across different systems, such as access control, alarm, video surveillance and the company’s IT system.
The possibilities are endless, the only limit is your imagination.
Access control with license plates
A good example of a cross-platform solution is access control in combination with a license plate recognition system – this way you can secure your perimeter and only allow the correct vehicles access to the area or be alerted when certain vehicles enter a specific area of your property.
General integrations with interlocking systems
There are also a wide range of integration options between interlocks and other systems. One of the most common solutions we provide is an integration between access control/alarm and a booking system. It can be a booking system for meeting rooms, hotels, paddle tennis centers, etc. With such an integration, the booking system can, among other things, create and delete codes in the alarm and access control systems, as well as receive events back when, for example, doors are opened. It’s also possible to control other things such as lights, heating and to take status readings from other systems.
There are many other integration options including:
- Integration with Windows Active Directory for user management via an existing IT system.
- Integration with video surveillance software to facilitate investigations, among other things.
- Integration with internal intranet systems for simpler user management.
- Integration with card printer systems for ID card production and simultaneous user management.
